The Africa Startup Summit 2022
On the 30th of June 2022 we showcased the best founders on the continent via this global stage to go on and compete in the USWC 2022 Global
finals.
The winner for 2021, a Zimbabwean student secured $100,000 in funding, this year we have submitted 3 startups for the finals.
Aside from the Startup competition the Summit featured conversations around;
-African MSME’s and SME’s accessing china as market for their products and services.
-The China-Africa ecosystem for startup founders.
-How African founders can tap into the continental and global markets.
We received over 100 founder applications and shortlisted 20 for interviews and 12 pitched in the finals.
Green
Green startups seek to leverage technology to create environmentally-friendly products and to encourage social good.
health
Health startups seek to improve the delivery, payment, and/or consumption of care, with the ability to increase the development and commercialization of medicinal products.
digital
A startup is called digital when its main assets are linked to technological investments. Digital Startups are contributing to and feeding off of technological changes at the same time.
social
A social startup is a newly established, market-oriented venture committed to solve cultural, environmental and/or social issues. Rather than being driven by profit, a social startup is committed instead to make the world
a better place.
